Our Vision

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, approximately 47% of Arkansas's population lives in rural areas, and 19% live below the federal poverty line. These statistics highlight the need for accessible, clear, and reliable information about maternal health in Arkansas.

Arkansas Maternal Coalition is dedicated to addressing this need by empowering women with the information and resources needed to make informed decisions, find supportive communities, and confidently seek care.

Our efforts include FREE resources and services designed to bridge these gaps:

1. Virtual Community

Foster connection and community through the Project #ihavetoo database and expressive art events to allow women process their experiences in a supportive space.

2. Virtual Public Health Campaigns

Raise awareness about maternal health risks, available resources, and services throughout Arkansas.

3. Virtual Support “Hours”

Offer weekly drop-in sessions where women can access one-hour support meetings with moderators trained through Postpartum Support International. These meetings provide a space for women to ask questions, share experiences, and receive guidance on navigating the challenges of maternal health.

4. Readily Accessible Educational Materials

Provide clinically reviewed workbooks, educational resources, and planning tools that guide women through their maternal health journey. These materials help women understand key aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and overall well-being.

5. In-Person Events

Collaborate with Arkansas-based artists and local facilities to offer "pop-up" expressive art events. These events allow women to engage in creative activities that support emotional and somatic healing, helping them navigate the psychological and physical aspects of maternal health.
